Biological control of Golovinomyces cichoracearum, the causal pathogen of sunflower powdery mildew

چکیده
Abstract Background Powdery mildew was found in most of the sunflower fields Egypt, causing severe yellowing blade, petiole, stem and calyx, as well a considerable defoliation during summer season 2018. Out fungal mycelium from infected leaves, collected four Egyptian Governorates (Kafr El-Sheikh, Gharbia, Giza El-Beheira), five isolates powdery pathogen were obtained identified using morphological molecular identification methods. Results In 2019 2020 seasons, biocontrol agents ( Bacillus subtilis , B. pumilus Trichoderma harzianum T. virid e koningii ) used to control disease on plants under field conditions compared with fungicide (Vectra 10% SC). Treatments significantly effective for controlling relative control. The best treatment reducing parameters (final severity (FDS%), area progress curve (AUDPC) efficacy) than koningii. Foliar application all tested treatments improved plant height, head diameters seed yield relation untreated (control). components (FDS%, AUDPC extracted described approximately 95.251% pooled data seasons 2020. such data, principal (PC1, PC2 PC3) parameters, development recorded 76.305, 86.635 96.265% total variance, respectively. Conclusion A biological agent, can be suggested based experimental findings.

متن کاملLoss-of-function mutations in chitin responsive genes show increased susceptibility to the powdery mildew pathogen Erysiphe cichoracearum.
Chitin is a major component of fungal walls and insect exoskeletons. Plants produce chitinases upon pathogen attack and chito-oligomers induce defense responses in plants, though the exact mechanism behind this response is unknown. Using the ATH1 Affymetrix microarrays consisting of about 23,000 genes, we examined the response of Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) seedlings to chito-octamers an...

15 صفحه اولLasiodiplodia theobromae is a Mycoparasite of a Powdery Mildew Pathogen
Powdery mildews on over 40 plants in Bangalore were screened during July-December of 2003~2008. Isolates from mycoparasitised Oidium caesalpiniacearum of Bauhinia purpurea comprised Lasiodiplodia theobromae, in addition to Ampelomyces quisqualis. Koch's postulates were satisfied to establish the mycoparasitism of L. theobromae. This is the first report that L. theobromae acts as a mycoparasite ...
متن کاملIdentification and utilization of a sow thistle powdery mildew as a poorly adapted pathogen to dissect post-invasion non-host resistance mechanisms in Arabidopsis
To better dissect non-host resistance against haustorium-forming powdery mildew pathogens, a sow thistle powdery mildew isolate designated Golovinomyces cichoracearum UMSG1 that has largely overcome penetration resistance but is invariably stopped by post-invasion non-host resistance of Arabidopsis thaliana was identified. The post-invasion non-host resistance is mainly manifested as the format...
